Most visitors to Vietnam see Hanoi and Ha Long Bay and little else. This tour goes much further. After two days in the capital, students head north into the mountains: to the lakes and caves of Ba Be National Park, the craft villages of Cao Bang, and one of the largest waterfalls in Southeast Asia, right on the border with China.

The second week turns to the coast and the karst country of the south. Students spend a night aboard ship among the limestone islands of Lan Ha Bay, explore Cat Ba Island, meet rescued primates at Vietnam's oldest national park, and finish among the rice fields and river caves of Ninh Binh. A dedicated English-speaking guide stays with the group from the first day to the last.
